New Build

A new dwelling built along the northern Illawarra coastline.

The internal and external materials were chosen in collaboration with Barnacle Studio and Matt Jolley Builder. Materials and products were assessed for durability, sustainability and compatibility. The outcome is a beautiful home that offers a high degree of tactility, functionality and provides the owners a sense of joy.

Reclaimed materials used include timber salvaged from the original fibro shack, a church rectory and the old Headlands Hotel. Bricks were sourced from an old demolished army barracks, brass from a retired bed maker and internal lights from renovators who were updating.

The result is a new house that is still connected with the past.
